WinterHope Brings Warmth to Clarens

Jackets of Joy

As the chill of winter tightens its grip on South Africa, the community of Clarens has shown incredible generosity and unity. This year, the Outreach Ministry of the local NG Church partnered with the famous Clarens Jacket Shop and local entrepreneur Guenter Nërlich to support the WinterHope campaign. The Clarens Combined Churches in Action (CCIA), the administrators of the Tshepong Centre, also joined hands with us to make a difference.

Our research highlighted that warm winter jackets were the most significant need in our community. Thanks to the kindness of Angela Lillyman, the owner of the Jacket Shop, we have been able to provide hundreds of discounted jackets for the project. Angela’s sponsorship and support have been invaluable, and we are deeply grateful for her contributions. Guenter Nërlich’s involvement has also been crucial in mobilising support and resources for this cause.

So far, we have distributed a total of 315 warm winter jackets to children and toddlers in Clarens.

This initiative has brought immense relief and warmth to many families in the community. We extend our heartfelt thanks to Angela Lillyman, Guenter Nërlich, and all the partners who have supported this campaign. Your generosity has truly made a difference.

As we continue to distribute these essential winter items, we invite everyone to join us in spreading warmth and hope. Together, we can ensure that no one has to face the harsh winter cold without proper protection. Thank you for being a part of WinterHope and for making a tangible difference in the lives of those in need.
